Vacuum Insulated Panels (VIPs) can suffer performance degradation over their service life due to outgassing of hydrogen and water vapor. The amount of degradation depends on multiple variables to include the materials the VIP is constructed of, the manufacturing process used, and the service conditions.

Active Materials is pleased to be able to offer VIP specific getter materials from NanJing Huadong Electronics Vacuum Material Co., Ltd to our North American and European customers. These excellent materials have been used successfully to maintain lower K values on the order of 2.0 mw/m.k. Not only that, these getters have been approved for use by major Asian appliance manufacturers to replace legacy materials that have left the market.
